3 nabbed with illegal weapons
The Palwal police have arrested three persons for possessing illicit weapons from three different spots in the past 24 hours. Two countrymade pistols and a gun have been seized.
Bahin Police station SHO Ravinder Kumar said a team, led by ASI Pradeep Kumar, nabbed Pushpender Kumar, a resident of Gahlab village, on Tuesday evening.
He said the accused, who was nabbed with a loaded countrymade pistol, could not produce a valid licence.
In another case, officials managed to nab Pintu, a resident of Gharot village, from the Alimeo road on Tuesday night following a raid conducted by the police. The accused was also held with a countrymade revolver.
The third case of seizure of illicit weapons was reported from a spot near Kot village, where the accused, identified as Pradeep of Gahlab village, was nabbed with a .315-bore countrymade gun.
While cases have been registered against all three of them under the Arms Act, the police were conducting an intensive investigation to know about the source of the weapons from the accused, said a police spokesperson.
