Rohtak, December 14
Three women were arrested and 5.25 gram smack, Rs11.44 lakh in cash and a Swift were seized from their possession in a police raid on two houses in Rainakpur Khokhrakot area of Rohtak today.
The raiding team, headed by DSP (Headquarters) Gorakh Pal Rana, also apprehended four youths who had allegedly come there to buy drugs.
“An amount of Rs7.44 lakh was seized from the house of Nihal Kaur alias Nihali and Rs4 lakh from the house of Nihali’s daughter-in-law Ravina. The money is suspected to have been collected by selling drugs. The duo had been arrested for possessing drugs in the past as well. Several mobile phones and ATM cards have also been seized,” Rana said.
Sources said Nihali’s son Baljit is involved in drug trade as well as ATM frauds. Nihali’s daughter Murti Devi was also arrested during the raid and 5.25 gram smack seized from her possession.
Nihali and Ravina were presented before the Income Tax authorities and investigation was under way till the time of filing this report.
