Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will participate as the chief guest in the state-level ‘Hariyali Teej’ festival in Jind district today. Organised by the Haryana Government, around 30,000 women from across the state have been invited to this festival. The CM will gift ‘kothlis’ to the women as it holds a special significance for ‘Hariyali Teej’.
Minister of State for Development and Panchayats Mahipal Dhanda, Minister of State for Women and Child Development Aseem Goel will also be present during the celebrations.
The state government is organising ‘Hariyali Teej’, which falls in the holy month of Sawan. It is a traditional festival of the state and celebrating such occasions collectively promotes social harmony.
This state-level celebrations of the festival is dedicated to women. During the event, ‘Lakhpati Didis’ will share their success stories and the CM will lend loans worth Rs 100 crore to self-help groups. He will honour members of the self-help groups with the Best SHG Award and also recognise female toppers of classes X and XII. The CM will also distribute cheques to the beneficiaries of Haryana Women Development Corporation.
At the event, 101 colourful swings have been set up for women. Women will perform folk dances in traditional attires as part of the cultural programme. The festival will also feature traditional Haryanvi dishes such as ghevar and gulgule. Women will set up more than 50 stalls at the event.
