32-yr-old teacher beaten to death at Sonepat village

A-32-year-old private schoolteacher was beaten to death near a minor canal on the Kasandi road here on Tuesday. Assailants also shot a video while assaulting him and made it viral on social media. In the video, some assailants were seen attacking youth lying on the road.

The deceased has been identified as Sandeep, a resident of Kasandi village. He worked as a math teacher in a private school. As per available information, Sandeep was on way to his Kasandi village after exercising in a gym at Khanpur village in the late evening on Tuesday.

"A case has been registered against Pawan, Praveen and their accomplices under various Sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita in this connection. A probe has been initiated into the matter. The body of the deceased was handed over to his family after a post-mortem examination."

As Sandeep crossed the minor canal on the Kasandi road, some miscreants stopped him and attacked him with rods and wooden sticks. All assailants had covered their faces with cloth to hide their identity. After committing the crime, assailants managed to flee from the spot. A passerby rushed Sandeep to Bhagat Phool Singh Medical College for Women at Khanpur Kalan in Gohana where he succumbed to his injuries.

Inspector Lal Singh, Station House Officer (SHO), Gohana Sadar police station, said a case had been registered against Pawan, Praveen and their accomplices under various Sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in this connection. He said a probe had been initiated into the matter. Body of the deceased was handed over to his family after a post-mortem examination, the SHO said.
