39-year-old woman beaten to death in Yamunanagar

A 39-year-old woman was allegedly beaten to death at Jathlana village in Yamunanagar’s Radaur subdivision on Thursday. The incident took place when some villagers attacked the victim, Suman, and her family members.

In his complaint, Sohan Lal said his son, Sahil, told him that when he had gone out for work with his friend, Mohin, around 9 am, told him that Sachin, Nitin and Golu, all residents of Jathlana village, manhandled them.

He further said after sometime, Ranbir, his wife and mother, Sachin, Joni, and two others entered their house and started beating them. The complainant said Joni and Ranbir’s wife thrashed Suman, following which she died on the spot. When they raised an alarm, villagers assembled at their house while the accused managed to flee the spot.

Upon receiving information, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ashish Chaudhary visited the spot. He said the matter was being investigated and that they were making efforts to ascertain the reason behind the attack.

A case was registered against Ranbir, his wife and mother, Joni, Sachin and two unidentified persons under Sections 103 (1), 190, 191 (2), 333 and 351 (2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, at the Jathlana police station on Thursday.
