4 arrested for cheating, impersonation in exam

A flying squad of the Education Department on Monday caught two persons while writing Class XII English exam of the Haryana School Education Board on their friends’ place. They were handed over to the police.
The police also arrested the two students for cheating and criminal conspiracy on the basis of a complaint filed by Jai Kumar, superintendent of exam centre at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Madlauda. All four accused will be produced in a court on Tuesday.
Inspector Virender said the accused were identified as Pankaj, Alim Husain, Rohit and Raman. Pankaj was writing the exam for Alim while Raman was writing the exam for Rohit. Both were students of a private school at a Kalka village, he said.
They had been booked under Sections 419, 420 (cheating), 120 B (conspiracy) and 188 (violation of section 144) and 34 of the IPC.
Meanwhile, SP Manisha Chaudhary has directed SHOs and police post heads to tighten security at examination centres. —TNS
