The police have arrested four individuals involved in an online fraud scheme where they duped people by pretending to sell motorcycles through fake SIM cards and social media profiles. The arrests follow the recovery of posts and QR codes related to motorcycle sales found on the mobile phones of two of the accused.
Inspector Naveen Kumar, SHO of the cyber-crime police station in Palwal, received information about two individuals involved in the scam. The accused were using fake SIM cards and Facebook profiles to advertise motorcycles for sale. Last night, the two men were arrested near Hathin bypass road while riding a bike. They were identified as Harmuz and Wasim, both residents of Lakhnaka village. An FIR was registered against them at the cyber-crime police station.
Following their arrest, the police apprehended two more individuals who were supplying the fake SIM cards to the accused. These SIM card vendors, Junaid and Nizam Ahmad, are also from Lakhnaka village. Police officials said all four suspects are being questioned.
