4 members of Jhota gang arrested

Rewari, February 20
The CIA branch of the district police today succeeded in nabbing four members of the notorious Jhota gang active in the region.
It also seized an illegal pistol, three knives, smack and Rs 73,500 cash from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Vishal alias Kalu of Sanghi Ka Baas village here, Toofan Singh of Beri village (Mahendragarh), Naveen alias Kulaka of Saraswati Vihar and Pradeep Soni of Nayi Aabadi area here. Rajkumar alias Jhota is the kingpin of the gang and is lodged in jail these days.
Police investigation revealed that Vishal is an accused in an attempt to murder case and was out of jail on bail. He had recently opened fire on a man of his locality and was arrested by the police. He was involved in the smuggling of smack.
Similarly, Toofan Singh also has a criminal background with cases being registered against him in police stations of Nimrana and Mahendragarh, said sources.
Vidhya Sagar, in-charge, CIA, said that they got a tip-off that some members of the Jhota gang were hiding at a house in Sanghi Ka Baas Mohalla and hatching a plot for another crime.
Acting on the tip-off, the house was raided and all the four were nabbed from the spot. Besides the firearm and other weapons, Rs 73,500 cash was recovered from the accused which had been earned by selling smack, he added.
A case under the Arms Act and NDPS Act has been registered against them at City police station.
