The dera head is undergoing 20-year imprisonment in connection with the rape of two disciples. He has also been convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati.
Ram Rahim had left the jail on the morning of August 5 and went to the dera headquarters at Sirsa. He reportedly took the parole this time to celebrate his 58th birthday, which fell on August 15.
He was not allowed to hold any large gatherings at the dera and was permitted to connect with followers only virtually.
It was for the 14th time that he was released from the jail on furlough/parole ever since he was awarded the jail term by a special CBI court in 2017.
