Gurugram, April 1
Amidst the ongoing furore over Covid transmission at a religious congression held at Nizamuddin, the Gurugram administration evacuated around 40 persons huddled together at a Muslim household in Pataudi.
All evacuated inhabitants reached Haily Mandi resident Gulzar”s house in 36 hours from various parts of country. This led to panic in hamlet and neighbours called the local authorities. The information brought everybody on toes and a special team, headed by SDM Pataudi Rajesh Kumar, raided the house. About 26 persons were sent for Covid testing and the house was marked for quarantine. The neighbours claimed that there were other persons present as well, but left after hearing the police siren. The inhabitants said they were all relatives who came to visit ailing house owner Gulzar. They hailed from Mahendergarh, Fatehpur and Pryagraj. The police was investigating their credentials.
“We got a call about people walking down to a house and beddings being rented to over 40 persons. The neighbours claimed that the beddings were disposed off before the police arrived. While 26 persons are being screened and sent to isolation, 10 persons with mild symptoms were sent to the Gurugram Civil Hospital and 15 persons were put in quarantine. We are in touch with the district authorities concerned to know how they evaded the lockdown,” said a senior official.
