Sampla DSP Rakesh Kumar said the ANC team was on patrol near Ismaila village. Acting on inputs, the team set up a checkpoint near the flyover on the Rohtak-Delhi road, close to Deen Bandhu Sir Chhotu Ram Polytechnic, Sampla. When the police signalled two vehicles approaching from the Delhi side to stop, the youths attempted to flee. The police nabbed the occupants of both the vehicles.

“The youths were identified as Rahul, Bijender and Deepak from Sonepat district. During a search, 452.62 kg of ‘ganja’ was recovered from the vehicles. Preliminary interrogation revealed that the three accused were friends and had brought ‘ganja’ from Odisha. They intended to supply it in Rohtak and Sonepat. The accused had previously trafficked drugs in the region and were apprehended for the first time,” the DSP added.
