49 units collected during blood donation camp

Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Foundation Trust, Lohgarh, with the cooperation of District Red Cross Society, Yamunanagar, organised a blood donation camp at community hall, near Lohgarh Sahib in Bhagwanpur village. Vyaspur SDM Jaspal Singh Gill was the chief guest.

District Red Cross Secretary Randeep Singh said that youth and social workers participated enthusiastically in the camp and as many as 49 units of blood were collected and that 15 youths donated blood for the first time.

The secretary himself donated blood for the 52nd time, Project Manager Sunita Sharma for the 16th time, Programme Officer Sheesh Pal Sohi for the 120th time and Amandeep Narwal for the 40th time.

During the programme, all the donors were honoured by the chief guest with badges and certificates. The SDM said that blood donation was a noble deed. He added that it not only saved the life of someone in need but also sent a message of humanity to society.

He urged young people to promote the spirit of cooperation by regularly participating in such camps. Randeep Singh said that blood donation was the greatest service to humanity. He said that everyone should donate blood at least once a year.
