Gurugram, March 17

A 50-year-old man was killed while nine others, including the driver of the car they were travelling in, were injured when it overturned after being hit by another vehicle near Manesar on Sunday night.

The victims belong to the Nathupura area of Delhi and five of the injured are from the same family. They were returning to Delhi after visiting the Baba Mohanram temple

in Milakpur in Rajasthan when the incident

An FIR was registered against the unidentified vehicle driver, who fled away from the spot with his vehicle, at the Manesar police station.

In his complaint, Kapil Kumar, he had gone with his family members and neighbours to the temple. Apart from him, his wife Upasana; son Aarav; father-in-law Prakash Chandra, mother-in-law Kavita and neighbours Rekha, Ishwanti, Mithlesh, Dharamveer and Sunil were in the car.

“While returning to Delhi, around 8:20 pm, when they reached at a turn near the Baba Nyayaramdas temple in the Manesar valley, another speeding vehicle coming from behind hit our vehicle from the side and the car was overturned after went out of control and all the people riding in another car

were injured.

The people around took everyone out and sent them to the nearest hospital by ambulance. In the hospital doctors declared Dharamveer dead. The injured Rekha, Kavita, Sunil, Aarav, Ishwanti, Prakash Chandra are still being treated. Upasana, Mithlesh and I had minor injuries and were discharged after treatment”, as Kapil said in his

complaint.

Following the complaint, an FIR was registered under relevant sections of the BNS at the Manesar police station on Monday. A senior police official said they were scanning the footage of nearby CCTV cameras to identify the vehicle, and the accused would be arrested soon.
