Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Som Nath Sachdeva on Friday said about 5,000 participants from Kurukshetra University will attend the state-level International Yoga Day event at Brahma Sarovar here on June 21. The VC chaired a meeting at the senate hall of the university in this regard. Sachdeva called upon Deans, Directors, Chairpersons, the Controller of Examinations, Chief Security Officer, Principals, Chief Wardens, Branch Heads, Deputy Registrars, Assistant Registrars, Superintendents and Deputy Superintendents to ensure maximum participation in the celebrations, and reviewed the preparations in detail.
He said yoga had seen a tremendous rise in popularity globally, driven in part by the increasing number of doctors recommending yoga to patients. Highlighting the vital role of yoga in modern life, Sachdeva remarked, “Yoga is not just a physical practice — it’s a holistic science that enhances mental and spiritual wellbeing.”
During the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor collected department-wise reports regarding participation of faculty members, students, staff, and their family members.
