65-year-old man killed in Yamunanagar

A 65-year-old man was allegedly killed at Ghespur village falling under Radaur subdivision in Yamunanagar district by slitting his throat with a sharp-edged weapon last night.

The deceased, identified as Om Prakash Pal, was sleeping on a cot in the open to guard his sheep in Ghespur village.Family members of the deceased have alleged that Om Prakash was killed by some people due to old rivalry.

According to information, some people informed the family members of the deceased and the police about the murder at about 6 am on Friday.

After receiving the information, Rajpal Singh, SHO Radaur police station, reached the spot.Later Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal and DSP Radaur Ashish Chaudhary also visited the spot.

Pradeep Kumar of Ghespur village, who is the son of the deceased, told the police that his father Om Prakash lived in Jubbal village and reared sheep and goats.

He further said that his father was sleeping on a cot in the open to guard his sheep and goats on Thursday night when someone attacked his father on his neck with a sharp- edged weapon and killed him.Pradeep Kumar alleged that his father might have been murdered by some people, who had an old rivalry with them. Rajpal Singh said three police teams were investigating the case and soon the culprits would be arrested.
