70 cartons of liquor seized

Faridabad: The police recovered 70 cartons of liquor, which was being transported illegally in the district, and arrested three persons in the past 24 hours. A Honda Civic car was intercepted in Surajkund area on Saturday night and 41 cartons of country-made liquor were recovered from it. A man identified as Vivek was arrested. The second seizure was made from the district’s Mangar village. The police accosted a Honda City car and recovered 13 cartons of liquor from it. New Delhi resident Abdul Karim was arrested. In the third seizure, 16 cartons of IMFL were recovered from Sector 56 resident Dheeraj. TNS

4 of family killed in accident

Mahendragarh: Four members of a family were killed when their car collided with a private bus on the Kanina road here on Sunday. Three others travelling on the bus also suffered injuries in the mishap. The deceased have been identified as Yogesh Chhabra, his brothers Surender, Jitender and sister Santosh of Faridabad. The accident occurred when the family was on its way back home from Mahendragarh. “The private bus owner has been arrested and booked under various sections of the IPC,” said the police. TNS
