750 fresh Covid cases, 17 deaths

With 750 fresh cases and 17 deaths, the Covid tally in the state jumped to 25,547 in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala tested negative for Covid. He, along with 62 of his close associates, were tested after his Personal Secretary Rahul Gaur tested positive two days ago. Except for two of his close associates, all others who used to frequent his Sector 2 residence tested negative for the virus.

On Saturday, the deaths were reported from Faridabad (5), Gurugram (2), Rohtak (2), Rewari (2), Ambala (2), Sonepat (1), Palwal (1), Nuh (1) and Fatehabad (1).

In Faridabad, a 53-year-old man from Jawahar Colony, 63-year-old woman from Dabua Colony and 60-year-old man from Parwatiya Colony succumbed. A 60-year-old person of Hanuman Gate, Jagadhri (Yamunanagar), also died but his death is yet to be counted in the state health bulletin. He was rushed to the district Covid hospital on July 16 as he was suffering from sugar, hypertension and fever.

A73-year-old man of Adarsh Nagar of Gohana (Sonepat) also died on Saturday morning. He was a patient of chronic kidney problem and hypertension for the past five years.

The fresh cases were reported from Faridabad (139), Gurugram (111), Ambala (96), Rohtak (56), Sonepat (46), Rewari (42), Hisar (40), Jhajjar (39), Panipat (35), Palwal (23), Karnal (21), Fatehabad (21), Panchkula (20), Nuh (15), Jind (14), Bhiwani (11), Mahendragarh (7), Kurukshetra (7), Sirsa (4), Yamunanagar (2) and Kaithal (1).

The localities from where the fresh cases came in Faridabad included Ballabgarh, Old Faridabad, Dabua Colony, Jawahar Colony, AC Nagar, NIT, Sanjay colony, Mahavir colony, Kheri Kalan, Sectors 3, 15, 16, 19 and 23, Palla, Panhera Khurd village and Bharat Colony.

In Karnal, four persons from Hansi Road, two from Salwan, a 26-year-old man of Jundla Dera, 23-year-old man of LIC Colony, 80-year-old woman of Dyal Singh Colony, 36-year-old man of Jyoti Nagar, 28-year-old man of Preetam Nagar, 23-year-old man of Shiv Colony, 17-year-old murder accused, 17-year-old youth of Shiv Colony, 33-year-old man of Bansa and one other were among the positive cases.

Kurukshetra cases included a 21-year-old youth and 22-year-old girl from Khanpur Kolian, 54-year-old man from Sector 4, 24-year-old girl from State Bank Patiala Colony, 53-year-old man from Railway Colony, 25-year-old youth from Shahabad and 39-year-old man from Ladwa.

Meanwhile, 600 people got cured on Saturday, taking the tally to 19,318 with a recovery rate of 75.62 per cent.
