7,590 complaints received in Samadhan Shivir, 82% resolved

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini had launched the Samadhan Shivir programme in the state during his first tenure. CM Saini directed all the deputy commissioners in the state to organise Samadhan Shivirs to hear grievances of the residents on a daily basis and to resolve them on the spot.

Following the CM’s directions, Samadhan Shivirs started on June 10. As per official information available, in Sonepat, the programme started with only 47 complaints on the first day with receiving only three complaints on Friday i.e. December 27.

Maximum plaints regarding ADC office

As per data available, out of total 7590 complaints, maximum 3831 were received regarding the Additional Deputy Commissioner’s office followed by 853 complaints regarding the District Municipal Commissioner office. As many as 464 complaints were received regarding the Police Department; 402 complaints were received about Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar offices while 356 complaints of Block Development and Panchayat Offices (BDPO offices) were received; 213 complaints were regarding the District Development and Panchayat (DDPO) office; 377 plaints regarding Social Welfare Department officer (DSWO) and the rest were regarding other departments.

Out of the total 827 pending complaints, a total of 368 complaints are pending with the Commissioner Municipal Corporation (CMC) office; 87 complaints are pending with all BDPOs; 65 complaints with Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildars; 64 complaints with the Police Department; 46 pending with UHBVN and 32 pending with DSWO and rest are pending with other departments.

DC Manoj Kumar said Samadhan Shivirs proved to be very fruitful to provide better solutions to the complainants on a single platform.

A total of 7,590 complaints have been received so far of which 6,262 have been resolved while 827 have been sent to the concerned departments for solutions, the DC said. A total of 269 complaints have been rejected so far, he said.

The DC said that apart from the district headquarter, these shivirs were being organised in Gohana, Gannaur and Kharkhoda and the complaints received had been resolved on priority.

DC Manoj Kumar also directed all the administrative officials to resolve the complaints on priority.

Samadhan Shivirs are monitored regularly by the Chief Minister’s Office. It was not a platform for resolving problems only but it had also become a bridge of trust between residents and the district administration, the DC claimed.
