Karnal, February 11
The Haryana Civil Services (HCS) exam was conducted peacefully on Sunday by the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) at 47 centres in the city amid heavy security arrangements by the authorities.
The exam, held in two shifts, saw the general study paper being administered from 10 am to 12 noon, followed by CSAT from 3 pm to 5 pm.
Gaurav Kumar, the CEO of Zila Parishad, and the nodal officer for the exam, said of total 14,664 candidates, 7,142 appeared for the morning shift, while 7,017 attended the evening session. He added that the exams were conducted in a smooth manner, with no reported incidents of cheating on Sunday.
Duty magistrates, accompanied with flying squads, monitored all centres during both shifts of the exam. To ensure the integrity of the examination process, CCTV cameras were installed at entry and exit points as well as within examination halls. Kumar said exams were conducted in a fair and transparent manner at all exam centres.
Attendance was recorded through biometric system at all the centres. The authorities expressed satisfaction with the overall conduct and adherence to security protocols while conducting the exam.
