The five-day 7th Haryana International Film Festival is set to commence on Wednesday at Kurukshetra University.

The film festival is being organised by the Department of Youth and Cultural Affairs, Kurukshetra University, in collaboration with Sanskriti Society for Arts and Cultural Development from August 7 to 11.

While releasing its brochure, the VC said it is going to open new avenues of knowledge and creativity for students of university. International acclaimed films from 16 countries in 19 languages will be screened in the auditorium and senate hall of the university.

The inaugural session of the festival will have renowned film personalities like Rupa Ganguly, who played Draupadi in Mahabharata, actress Munmun Sen, Akhilendra Mishra and Shikha Malhotra.

On the occasion, Registrar Sanjeev Sharma, Dean of Student Welfare AR Chaudhri, director of Department of Youth and Cultural Affairs Vivek Chawla, director of Public Relations Department Maha Singh Poonia, and Dhamendra Dangi, president of Sanskriti Society for Arts and Cultural Development were also present. — TNS
