The court of Additional Sessions Judge Punit Sehgal on Tuesday sentenced eight members of the Bawaria gang to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) for committing robbery in 2016.

According to the police, the gang members had knocked on the door of a house in Nainwal village on the night of August 10 in 2016. When the house owner opened the door, they thrashed him but somehow, the victim managed to close the door and the accused ran away from there. An FIR was registered at Manesar police station.

During the investigation, it was revealed that they had also committed robbery at Saharavan village, where they had assaulted the members of a family on the same night, following which an FIR was registered against them.

They were identified as Jai Bhagwan, Rajbir, Raka, Sunil, Naresh, Lambu, Munna and Hemant.

“On the basis of evidence and witnesses, the court of Additional Sessions Judge Punit Sehgal on Tuesday sentenced all eight convicts to 10 years of RI. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on each one of them,” said a spokesperson for the Gurugram police.
