800 kg seized drugs destroyed in Faridabad
Faridabad, January 31
The police have destroyed around 800 kg drugs and narcotics material seized in 114 cases in the past few years.
Police spokesperson Sube Singh said the process was carried out under the supervision of the Commissioner of Police and chairman of the disposal committee, Rakesh Kumar Arya, on the premises of the Golden Eagle Waste Management Company here.
Among the drug smuggling cases, 90 cases were registered against those in possession of ganja while 23 cases were registered against those possessing smack, injections, heroin, methamphetamine drug, pills and capsules, etc.
The destroyed narcotics include 760.926 kg hemp, 37.388 kg stolen poppy, 79.204 gm smack, 265 narcotic injections and 368 capsules.
Sube Singh said the police have launched a helpline number, 9050891508, for public to provide information and inputs regarding drug peddling in the city and district.
