Panipat, August 18
As many as 9.25 lakh voters here will elect their Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) for four constituencies — Panipat Urban, Panipat Rural, Israna (reserved) and Samalkha — of Panipat district on October 1.
Among four constituencies, two MLAs are from the BJP including Mahipal Dhanda of Panipat Rural and Pramod Vij of Panipat Urban and two seats are with the Congress —Dharam Singh Chhoker in Samalkha and Balbir Valmiki in Israna constituency.
Now, all the political parties — BJP, Congress, AAP, INLD and JJP — are preparing to win all the four constituencies.
A total of 9,25,725 voters, including 4,91,621 males and 4,31,797 female voters, will cast their votes to elect their nominee for four assembly segments.
District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Virender Kumar Dahiya said that there are a total of 912 polling booths, including 393 in urban areas while 519 booths in rural areas. As many as 47 new polling booths have been set up including 30 in rural areas and 17 urban areas, the DC said.
