The Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) declared its Class X results on Saturday. As many as 92.74 per cent regular students in Sirsa passed the board exams. While the overall pass percentage remains impressive, it has dropped by 2.31 per cent compared to last year’s 95.05 per cent. The number of students passing in both Class X and XII has decreased this year compared to the previous academic session.
However, despite good performance, not a single student from Sirsa featured in the HBSE top 20 merit list. The same was true for the CBSE Class X and XII results, where no Sirsa student secured a place among the state’s top scorers.
In 2024, Sirsa had secured a 95.05 per cent result in Class X and was ranked 15th across the state. Although this year’s Class XII result for Sirsa was 85.97 per cent, Class X students outperformed them in terms of pass percentage. Most students who cleared Class X exams are continuing in the same schools for their senior secondary education, though some have migrated to other institutions. Despite the dip in results, there was a sense of joy among students as the results were timely and better than expected. Sunita Jakhar, Principal of GSSS, Jogiwala, stated that the overall Class X result was satisfactory and students seemed happy with their performance. As the news of the result being out spread, teachers called students to school to celebrate. Many took selfies with students and encouraged them for their future. School toppers shared their experiences with fellow students, creating an inspiring environment on the campus.
However, there was a rush in schools and due to heavy traffic, the result website faced glitches for some time, delaying the download of marksheets. According to official data, 13,270 regular students appeared for the Class X exams in Sirsa, out of which 12,307 passed, 688 got compartments and 275 failed. In another batch of 510 students, 425 passed and 85 failed, giving that group a pass percentage of 83.33 per cent.
