AAP leader put on notice for violation of poll code

The Returning Officer of Narnaul Assembly segment has served a show-cause notice on Ravinder Matru, state organising secretary, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), for the violation of model code of conduct. He has been asked to clarify the situation by submitting his reply within two days.

“It has come to the notice that you organised an eye check-up camp at your residence located in front of the Superintendent of Police residence on the Mahendragarh Road in Narnaul city on August 27. The party flags, pamphlets and brooms have been distributed among those participating in the camp,” said the notice issued by the Returning Officer, Narnaul, on Wednesday.

The notice further states, “This is the violation of model code of conduct, hence you are required to clarify your position within two days of receiving this letter. Why recommendation for appropriate action against you for the violation of the model code of conduct should not be made?”

Dr Jitender Singh, Returning Officer, said the action had been taken on the verbal complaint while Ravinder Matru could not be contacted for his comment over the issue.
