In a strong response to BJP Member of Parliament (MP) Kangana Ranaut’s remarks against farmers, members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged a big protest in the district today.

The demonstration, led by AAP district president Happy Ranian, saw the participation of key party figures, including state president of the farmer’s wing Kuldeep Bhambhu and district president of the wing Surjit Singh Begu.

Protesters raised slogans against the BJP government and demanded action against Kangana. They called for Ranaut to apologise to farmers in Haryana and condemned her for her “negative statements” about them. The leaders expressed their displeasure, accusing Ranaut of repeatedly insulting farmers and alleging that the BJP had consistently disrespected them. Happy Ranian criticised the BJP, accusing it of showing disdain for farmers and said Ranaut’s recent comments were another instance of the party’s anti-farmer stance. He claimed that the BJP rewarded those who insulted farmers and that the party’s hostility towards farmers was evident from its actions, including the withdrawal of controversial farm laws under pressure.

Kuldeep Bhambhu, state president of the farmer’s wing, stated that the BJP mistreated and disliked farmers, and vowed that farmers would ensure the party was defeated in the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections.

The protest saw the participation of several AAP leaders and activists, including national executive member Virender Kumar, district secretary Shyam Mehta and various district-level officials and party workers. They voiced their collective outrage and commitment to supporting farmers against the “unjust treatment”.

Yamunanagar: The AAP on Tuesday protested against BJP MP Kangana Ranaut for making statements against farmers. Office-bearers and workers of the AAP, led by senior vice-president of the state unit Anurag Dhanda, assembled at Kamani Chowk in Yamunangar and raised slogans against the BJP government. Demanding action against Kangana, Dhanda said she should come to Haryana and apologise to the farmers.

He said the AAP would not tolerate wrong statements against the farmers.

He further said that Kangana had been making such statements against farmers earlier too. “The BJP has always insulted the farmers and those who insulted the farmers were rewarded with posts. Kangana insulted farmers and as a reward BJP made her an MP,” said Dhanda.

He said the BJP hated the farmers of this country as it had to bow before the farmers and had to withdraw the three agriculture laws.
