AAP to hold ‘Nigam Jagriti Yatra’ in Panipat from Feb 2
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced 'Nigam Jagriti Yatra’ against the alleged corruption in the Municipal Corporation (MC), Panipat, and the BJP’s "anti-people" politics in all wards from February 2 from Ward 17.
This was decided at a meeting held in the AAP office in Sector 25 which was led by Panipat MC election in-charge and senior AAP leader Surender Ahlawat on Thursday.
Surender Ahlawat said, "Every section of society was fed up with the BJP’s 10 years of misgovernance and corruption in the Municipal Corporation. It was unanimously decided at the meeting that AAP will organise ‘Nigam Jagriti Padyatra’ in all 26 wards of the MC against the corruption and the anti-people politics of the BJP."
The patyatra would start from Ward 17 on February 2 and it would be organised every Sunday in different wards, he added.
Ahlawat stated that AAP would contest the MC polls with full strength and the party would field strong candidates from every section of society in all 26 wards.
Taking a dig at the Congress, Ahlawat said that the Congress had failed to play the role of opposition, hence AAP would strongly oppose every "anti-people" decision of the government.
