The All India Jat Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti today served an ultimatum on the state government to fulfil its demands by March 31.

It threatened to organise panchayats against MLAs of the BJP and JJP and Independents supporting the government in their constituencies if the demands were not met.

The decision was taken during a state-level “Balidaan Divas Samaroh” at Lath-Joli Chowk on the Sonepat-Gohana national highway.

Samiti national president Yashpal Malik said they would hand over memorandums to MPs from 13 Jat-dominated states, urging them to recommend Jats’ inclusion in the OBC category to the Prime Minister, Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment and National Backward Classes Commission.

Malik said Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had, during a meeting, promised to constitute a committee of advocates to make efforts for withdrawal of cases against Jats during the quota stir. “Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala has supported the samiti’s demands,” he added.
