DHABA owners have occupied a major part of the road at a distance of hardly 20 meters from the Kaithal Municipal Council office. The inaction by council staff has not only boosted the morale of violators but also resulted in great inconvenience to residents who have to face traffic jams daily at Old Gandhi Park chowk. Interestingly, the city police station and CIA -1 office are also situated near by. All encroachments should be be removed and strict action be taken against illegal occupiers. —Satish Seth, Kaithal

Dangerous to drive on Jind-Rohtak road

WHILE going to Delhi, it was torturous to cover the 60-km distance between Jind and Rohtak. The entire stretch is potholed at many places, especially in Julana. It is too scary to drive as the vehicles can simply breakdown in the middle of the road. In 1968, when I used to go to Rohtak, the road was somewhat better, but over the years, it has turned from bad to worse despite the fact that the government has spent crores on its repairs. —Ramesh Gupta, Narwana
