Act against officials if complaint remains unresolved for over 24 hours: Vij
Energy and Transport Minister Anil Vij on Sunday conducted a surprise inspection at an electricity complaint centre located within the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam’s main office in the city. During his visit, Vij spoke to complainants on the cellphone to inquire about the action taken on their issues.
Vij instructed power corporation officials to ensure that consumer complaints were resolved within the stipulated time frame. He specifically directed Superintending Engineer (SE) Maninder Kadyan to investigate and take action against staff members if any complaint remained unresolved for more than 24 hours.
Addressing nigam employees, Vij emphasised that complaints unresolved for over four hours should be immediately inquired, and a clarification be sought from the official concerned in this regard. He further instructed that reports on such matters should be submitted to him directly.
Besides, the minister issued instructions regarding the placement of electricity poles. He ordered that poles should not be installed in middle of drains, sewers or roads. Any such poles should be promptly removed and relocated to appropriate locations to prevent consumer inconvenience.
Vij’s conducted inspection after he attended the closing ceremony of a three-day Hanuman Katha organised at Sankat Mochan Hanuman Dham, located at Mata Darwaza here, where he was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion Vij said, “India is renowned for its ancient and rich Sanatan culture.” He said teachings of sages and saints always guided society in the right direction. He said Basant Panchami brings positive changes, both in nature and in people. He explained that after harsh winter, the weather becomes pleasant and takes a refreshing turn.
Later, the minister visited residence of former Rohtak Mayor Manmohan Goyal to inquire about his health and wished him a speedy recovery. During minister’s visit, Goyal shared with Vij that he suffered injuries after slipping while returning from a bath at the Maha Kumbh in Prayag Raj (Uttar Pradesh). Goyal assured minister that he was feeling better now.
In a show of gratitude, Goyal and his supporters felicitated Vij by presenting him with bouquets and draping a shawl around him. Former minister Krishan Murti Hooda, BJP state secretary Gulshan Bhatia, state treasurer Ajay Bansal, industrialist Rajesh Jain, Renu Dabla and Pradeep Jain were among those present on the occasion.
