Act promptly on plaints of women, Hisar Range IG tells cops

Inspector General of Police (IG), Hisar Range, Rakesh Kumar Arya has directed cops in five police districts to take swift action on the complaints of women victims.

The IG, while holding a review meeting on the cases of crime against women, directed the Superintendents of Police (SPs) in the districts of Hisar, Fatehabad, Sirsa, Jind and Hansi to review the complaints and crimes committed against women on a daily basis and to strictly follow the instructions issued in this direction.

The police spokesperson said cops had registered 213 cases in rape charges under Section 376 of the IPC in five districts till October 31 this year and all cases had been worked out. In the above cases, 82 cases were registered in Hisar district, 18 in police district Hansi, 39 in Jind, 41 in Sirsa and 33 in Fatehabad.

In the five districts of the division, 327 abduction cases were registered, of which 326 had been worked out by the police. During the same period, 781 cases were registered in the five districts of the division for dowry harassment under Section 498A, and all of them had been worked out.

Arya also told the SPs to take measures to curb crimes against women. He asked to ensure that the complaints of women were taken seriously by the investigation officers and prompt and effective action was taken. — TNS
