Taking stringent note of cheating in the Haryana School Education Board (HSEB), the district administration has recommended action against six teachers of two government schools, whose video went viral.

In the video, some teachers were seen making slips for maths paper for students of Class X outside a centre at Government Senior Secondary School in Mahra village.

Navin Gulia, District Education Officer (DEO), initiated an inquiry into the matter, which revealed that there were students of around 10 government and private schools at the centre.

Sources in the department said all six teachers had been identified. Four teachers, including two women maths teachers, a woman Sanskrit PG teacher and a male physical education teacher were from Government Senior Secondary School at Shahzadpur village, while two female maths teachers were from Government Senior Secondary School at Karewri village, the sources said.

The DEO said a letter had been written to the Secretary, HSEB, for further action.

As many as 76 exam centres have been established in the district to conduct the board exams for Classes X and XII. Of these, 18 centres are for Class X and seven for Class XII.

Fourteen centres are under the sensitive category while seven — at Pugthala, Bhainswal Kalan, Bhawar, Chirana, Kathura, Chhathara and Bhatgaon — are under the super-sensitive category.

Deputy Commissioner Manoj Kumar Yadav has said during the exams, complaints regarding cheating and 'outsider interference' have been received, besides photos and videos.

The exam at some centres would be cancelled and students would have to take it either at the district headquarter centre or Bhiwani board.

The DC said strict steps had been taken to stop cheating and flying squads had been formed. Duty Magistrates and police personnel would be deployed at sensitive and super-sensitive centres.

The district administration and police would maintain security outside the centre, while the Education Department would handle security inside the centres, the DC said.
