The National Adventure Club organised the 30th National Adventure Festival from February 2 to 10 at Morni Hills near here.

An official spokesperson said about 275 men and women from all over the country in the 16-45 year age group participated in it, besides a team of seven participants from Bangladesh. He said the competitions included activities like trekking, rock climbing, rappelling, river rafting, snow skiing, archery, commando obstacle, river crossing, etc.

Before being sent to Solang Valley in Manali (HP), all participants were required to climb from Mountain Quil to Karoh Peak, the highest point of 1,467 m Morni hills

He said the National Adventure Club awarded the prestigious “Bharat Gaurav” and “Adamaya Sahas Puruskar” awards at the national and international levels to distinguished adventure players. This year, Inspector Ram Lal was awarded the “Adamaya Sahas Puruskar”, which included a cash prize of Rs 31,000, a certificate of appreciation and a plaque.

Former Chairman of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board, Bangladesh, and President of the Bangladesh Adventure Foundation Naba Bikram Kishore Tripura and president of the National Adventure Club (India) SC Choudhary were prominent among those present during the function.
