As per information received from the local office of the Department of Town Planning, illegal colonies were being carved out in Yakubpur, Dadri Toa, Sheojipur and Aurangpur villages in Badli tehsil.

Taking note of it, the district administration issued orders, prohibiting the registration of any kind of sale deed, sale contract, power of attorney and full payment agreement for some specific sites in all four villages.

The administration has also appealed to residents to check the revenue record and necessary documents of the land concerned before buying property. Purchasing properties in illegal colonies can cause legal and financial loss in future.

According to sources, the land mafia is active in carving out illegal residential plots and colonies in the district. They are also trying to sell such plots by giving people misleading information with an intention to make money.
