Like many agencies, the district administration and the traffic police too have prepared detailed plans to tackle waterlogging in the city. The plan will concentrate on avoiding traffic congestion during any possible waterlogging in monsoon.
Arrangements have also been made by the city traffic police to deal with vehicle-related snarls due to waterlogging during the rainy season. The traffic police have constituted two quick response teams (QRT) teams in the city, which will work under the supervision of the DCP.
According to communication of the police 1,100 traffic cops, RSO team and other officials will be deployed to facilitate traffic movement in the city.
Towing cranes will be available 24×7 at different places of the city to deal with all kinds of problems due to waterlogging. The police will keep a close watch on waterlogged points from the GMDA Control and Command Centre set up in the city.
The police have also issued helpline numbers, including contact number of the traffic police control room, for any kind of assistance related to traffic.

Meanwhile, the district administration has assigned duties to 16 senior officers to ensure dewatering arrangements in areas prone to waterlogging.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority, Nishant Kumar Yadav, has issued orders in this connection.
“ADC will be the overall in-charge. He has been asked to ensure setting up of the Flood Control Room to monitor flooding during this monsoon season,” the order reads.
