Chandigarh, March 9
The Education Department has set in motion the admission process for below poverty line (BPL) and economically weaker sections (EWS) students in private schools under Rule 134-A of the Haryana Education (Third Amendment).
Common service centres of the government will accept applications online for Classes II to XII under the admission process, which began on March 6 and would continue till March 20.
Officials said applications under Rule 134-A for the academic session 2020-21 would be accepted only in online mode, for which district and block officials had been asked to assist students and their parents.
Under Section 134-A, there is a quota of 10 per cent in private schools for BPL and EWS students, who are given free education. The fee is later reimbursed by the Education Department.
Officials said only recognised schools which had verified their details and declared vacancies of seats online would be allowed to admit students under Rule 134-A.
