Sirsa, July 18
In an effort to promote the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” initiative and foster positive changes in society, the Women and Child Development Department of the Haryana Government is organising a unique competition. Participants, who secure the first, second and third positions in the competition, will be awarded Rs 5,100, Rs 3,100 and Rs 2,100, respectively, along with certificates, to showcase their work and inspire others.
Applications for participation in the competition can be submitted till July 29. District Programme Officer Dr Darshana Singh highlighted that various categories have been created for different competitions under the department’s initiative, emphasising the importance of saving and educating daughters. These include singing, radio jingles, songs, rap and video competitions. Entries must be original and in the Haryanvi language, with each submission limited to one minute, Dr Singh added.
Dr Singh said entries should be clear, of high quality and relevant to the theme. The competition gives special priority to women participants and is open to all age groups. Participants can present their entries on themes such as saving and educating daughters, female foeticide, women’s rights, cybercrime and gender discrimination.
Interested participants are required to submit hard copies of their entries to the District Programme Officer’s office at the Women and Child Development Department by July 29. A committee will evaluate all submissions and announce winners accordingly.
