“Rewari district is the land of heroes and our soldiers are standing bravely on the borders of the country. This Half Marathon is proving effective in delivering a positive message to our youth,” said Saini while addressing the participants of the Half Marathon in Rewari on Sunday.

The CM said unlike the old ‘parchi karchi’ tradition, merit-based recruitments were being made in Haryana. He emphasised that the state government would continue to recruit for government jobs transparently based on merit. He urged the youth to focus only on hard work, dedication and preparation.

“Due to a transparent system, the benefits of all government schemes are reaching the last person in society. The state government is playing an active role in providing an empowering path to the youth and is contributing to the construction of a strong Haryana by providing a better educational environment,” he claimed.

The CM said due to Haryana’s sports policy, the players from the state had made the nation and the state proud at the Paris Olympics.

Public Health and Engineering Minister Dr Banwari Lal, Kosli MLA Laxman Yadav, Haryana State Tourism Corporation Chairman Arvind Yadav and several other BJP leaders were present on the occasion.

Earlier, cultural events were organised at Rao Tularam Stadium during the Half Marathon programme.

Meanwhile in Palwal, Saini said the state government is working at a fast pace to set up a girls’ college at every 20 km in the state to educate women. He said this at a function organised to lay the foundation stone of a private girls’ college in Palwal this noon.

The CM also inaugurated an indoor stadium at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose sports complex. It is built at a cost of Rs 14 crore, according to the district authorities.
