State Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana on Friday said that Haryana was the first state in the country where most of the crops of farmers were being procured  on minimum support price (MSP).

The minister was speaking after inspecting the procurement of mustard crop at the Ladwa grain market on Friday.

The minister inquired about the produce and the procurement process and also took feedback from the farmers and the traders. He directed the market committee officials to ensure that the farmers didn’t face any inconvenience and there was no delay in the procurement process. The minister also warned the officials of action if any negligence or complaint was found on their part.

The officials were also directed to ensure all required facilities and arrangements for the farmers, traders and labourers at the grain markets.

The minister said while the produce was being procured on the MSP, the government also provided subsidy to the farmers on seeds, fertilisers and agriculture equipment. The government would ensure that the farmers and the traders didn’t face any inconvenience during the procurement of mustard and other crops.

Shyam Singh Rana said he belonged to a farmer family and was well aware of the problems the farmers faced. The Prime Minister and Chief Minister were serious about the problems of the farmers and the government was trying to resolve the issues. He said the government was trying to ensure that the benefits of public welfare schemes reached every section of society along with the farmers. The state was ahead of other states in every field along with development, he said.

“The government is working with the spirit of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas’. The schemes are being introduced keeping in mind the interests of all sections of society. The Chief Minister has also written a letter to the Centre for the government subsidy on other necessary equipment for the farmers. The government is implementing welfare schemes to benefit the farmers”, he said.
