Agriculture Minister suspends four officials over negligence in duty
Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana has ordered the suspension of four officials from the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board for negligence in duty.
The action came after a surprise inspection of grain markets in Sadhaura (Yamunanagar district) and Raipur Rani (Panchkula district) conducted by the minister.
During his visit to the Sadhaura grain market, Minister Shyam Singh Rana found mandi secretary Dharmendra Singh and auction recorder Bijendra Singh absent from duty.
Later, during an inspection of the Raipur Rani grain market, mandi secretary Navdeep Singh and auction recorder Raj Kumar were also found missing.
The minister immediately ordered the suspension of these officials on the spot.
Explaining the strict action, he said, “There have been frequent complaints about the regular absence of officials in these markets. To verify these complaints, I decided to conduct a surprise inspection.”
He further warned that officials neglecting their duties would not be spared and would face strict action.
During the inspection, he also reviewed official records and directed authorities to ensure all necessary facilities were provided to farmers visiting the grain markets.
Issuing strict instructions to senior officers, he emphasised the need for timely attendance of all employees at their workplaces.
The minister asserted that he would continue conducting surprise inspections across the state to maintain smooth administrative functioning and prevent inconvenience to farmers.
“Strict measures will be taken against negligent officials to ensure accountability and efficiency in grain markets,” he added.
