Two days ahead of the Assembly session, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, Speaker Gian Chand Gupta and three MLAs today tested positive for Covid-19.

Khattar had attended a meeting with Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who was later found infected. Legislators Aseem Goyal, RK Kashyap and Lakshman Napa have tested positive too.

Meanwhile, India scaled a new peak in Covid testing with more than 26,000 tests per million people, exceeding the WHO advisory of at least 140 tests per million people per day.
