On the third day of “Prakriti Utsav”, organised at the ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) auditorium under the joint aegis of the NDRI, Haryana Police and Indian Oil, a series of engaging activities and cultural programmes were held.

ASP Kanchi Singhal, who was the chief guest on the occasion, underlined the importance of books and said there is no alternative to books. "YouTube, AI can only give information but cannot make you knowledgeable."

Motivating the new generation, she said, "You should have the desire to imbibe new knowledge, for this it is important that you select and read good books." While thanking the organising committee for organising the book fair, she said the book fair is an ocean of knowledge, it depends on how many pearls one picks from the ocean.

Karnal DFO Pawan Sharma said, “In this festival, I urge all of you that this is the time for plantation, choose the right plants and plant them and take care of them until they become trees. He said work done only for show is not fruitful.”

Keynote speaker Dr Ashok Chauhan, Professor (Kurukshetra University), while speaking on the subject of “Environment and Economics”, said, "In the present times, the biggest sector of natural pollution is the service sector. When any object is taken from one place to another, the footprints of carbon dioxide knowingly or unknowingly pollute the entire environment. Due to which the temperature of the Earth increases."

Transport officer Yogendra Dhul said, “We should adopt the three R's in our life — Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, which will help in getting rid of today's current problems.”

Presiding over the discussion, Director and Vice-Chancellor of NDRI, Dr Dheer Singh, said Prakriti Utsav has been organised through the joint coordination of several departments, presenting a remarkable example of cultural diversity and unity in diversity which, he emphasised, is the true essence and beauty of India.
