After establishing Integrated Command and Control Centres (ICCCs) in Gurugram, Faridabad and Karnal districts as a pilot project, the state government is now gearing up to set up such centre in every district by this month.

The ICCC is aimed at fetching real-time information and enhancing security and surveillance, traffic solid waste management and e-governance applications. It will also be useful in preventing crime while keeping a tab at every nook and corner of the district, said sources.

In a latest development, the government has decided to upgrade police control monitoring rooms as the ICCC in the area of remaining district headquarters.

This has been disclosed in a communiqué sent recently to all Municipal Corporation commissioners, district municipal commissioners and chief executive officers from the office of Director (Urban Local Bodies).

“As per the communiqué, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar shall inaugurate all these ICCCs on February 14. Hence, the ULB officers have been asked to take immediate necessary action for compliance of direction about setting up of ICCC in municipal bodies,” said a source.

Sources maintained that the government had constituted a 10-member inter-departmental committee under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary for the execution of the project across the state. The Administrative Secretary (ULB) is member secretary of the committee.

The ULB department has also engaged a firm as project management unit (PMU) to provide consulting services for designing Smart Technology Solutions and the ICCC.

“The ICCC equipped with advanced IT systems will not only integrate the government departments to ensure good governance while providing better public services and enhancing safety and security, but also prove useful in detecting traffic rules like signal jumping, automatic number plate recognition and detection of red light and speed violations,” said an ULB official.

Rohtak SP Himanshu Garg could not be contacted for his comments.
