Addressing a meeting with officials on cleanliness, drinking water, sewerage and roads here on Sunday, the DC said that not just subordinate staff, but all IAS and HCS officers would be required to participate actively in field inspections.

He directed all officers to regularly visit their assigned wards and villages. “Wherever garbage or potholes are found, photographs must be taken and posted in the official WhatsApp groups, along with follow-up photos after the issue is resolved,” he added.

The DC maintained Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is taking sanitation efforts very seriously and is personally monitoring progress. Hence, all officers must work as a team to make both rural and urban areas clean and beautiful. He made it clear that negligence in this matter would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

“Implementation agencies of the departments concerned must provide feedback after carrying out works. If the work is not done properly, the responsibility will lie with the officer concerned. Visible change must be seen in sanitation matters,” Gupta added.

While issuing necessary guidelines regarding road repair techniques, the DC reiterated that departments must work with mutual coordination on cleanliness, avoiding passing responsibility onto others. All agencies must focus on implementation of works.

After the meeting, the DC, along with Municipal Commissioner Anand Sharma, inspected various parts of the city to review sanitation conditions.

Sharma stated that Rohtak should earn a reputation for being a leader in cleanliness. “Sanitation is not the responsibility of any one department. It requires collective efforts from all departments,” he said, urging everyone to work with that spirit.
