Gurugram, March 17
After the state’s first confirmed Covid case emerged in Gurugram on Monday, the authorities have launched fresh preventive measures on Tuesday.
In a bid to prevent and control the spread of Covid, the District Magistrate of Gurugram on Tuesday issued an advisory, requesting all MNCs, IT firms, industries, BPOs and corporate offices in the district to allow their employees to work from home until March 31.
Highlighting the importance of social distancing in defeating Covid, Deputy Commissioner Amit Khatri said letting people work from home would go a long way in fighting against the disease. The administration, on its part, has virtually shifted its public dealing to social media. Residents have been advised to abstain from visiting public or government offices till it’s very urgent. The administration has been clearly manning the social media and taking up public grievances there.
“Social distancing is the only way to deal with Covid spread. Many MNCs and start-ups were operational and following mandated decontamination and sanitisation routines. However, it’s best to allow employees to work from home. Relevant orders in this regard have been issued,” Khatri added.
Senior citizen under observation
Gurugram: A senior citizen, a resident of one of the societies of Nirvana Country, is currently under observation at the Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. The society has, however, taken all measures and persons who were in the suspected patient’s contact have been quarantined.
