Alumni from more than 21 countries attend KU meet

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said alumni of an institution were like charioteers who lead, guide and contribute towards the development and growth of the institution. Since its inception in 1956, Kurukshetra University has set new records in every field, including education, research, sports, cultural activities and social service in the past 65 years.
The CM was addressing the alumni who had joined physically and online from more than 21 countries on the the KU alumni meet “Pratismriti: Alumni reunion 2021” organised by the Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra Alumni Association (KUKKA) on Thursday.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Manohar Lal also released a souvenir of the KU Alumni Association. He also inaugurated a multipurpose sports hall at the KU and launched the KG-to-PG scheme under the NEP-2020 at the university. Along with this, he also launched an online certificate course in Japanese Language, BBA honours and M Tech in defence technology to be offered in the academic session 2021-22. Besides, he also launched a Jingle for Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The CM announced that he would be the first student to take admission in the online certificate course in Japanese language.
The CM, who had joined the event online, said, “Today, there can be no better option than the alumni forum to get acquainted with the history of Kurukshetra University. I appreciate the idea of the alumni meet, which creates a special bond among students, especially those who have established themselves well in the outside world by getting education at the university.”
The Vice Chancellor KU, Prof Som Nath Sachdeva, said alumni were our invaluable heritage. Kurukshetra University has made its mark nationally and internationally as a multidisciplinary institution. By becoming the first A-plus grade university of Haryana, The KU has got a reputation in the state and entire country. Our alumni are the flag-bearers of the KU at the national and international levels.
On the occasion, a large number of alumni including, KU registrar Dr Sanjeev Sharma, United Nations World Food Programme representative and country director to India Bishow Parajuli, Arjun Awardee Dr Dalel Singh, Dronacharya Awardee Mahavir, IAS S S Phulia, and Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice Anil Khetarpal, also joined the event in offline and online mode.
