Vij said the buses would offer passengers a comfortable, convenient and eco-friendly travel experience. He added that 23 new modern bus queue shelters were also being constructed along Ambala’s local routes to further enhance commuter convenience. Each shelter will be equipped with seating, lighting and fans to ensure passenger comfort while waiting for buses.

Ambala’s local bus service, which had been discontinued for nearly 25 years, was revived on November 1 last year with 10 mini-buses. Five AC electric buses were introduced on Republic Day (January 26), followed by another five on World Environment Day (June 5).

Vij said, “The addition of new e-buses and the construction of modern shelters will not only improve passenger comfort but also encourage more people to use public transport.”
