Ambala, March 6
After opening one lane on each side of the Ambala-Chandigarh highway, the Ambala-Hisar highway was opened for commuters on Tuesday.
The highways were closed in view of the farmers’ call of Delhi march, causing inconvenience to the commuters as they had to take longer routes to reach their destinations.
An official said that following the instructions from the district administration, the highways are being opened gradually. The Ambala-Kala Amb highway is also expected to open on Wednesday.
The closures of the important highways were a cause of inconvenience for the commuters, especially those travelling to PGI (Chandigarh) due to medical emergencies. Besides the highways, some internal routes have also been opened.
