Ambala prof receives scientist of the year award

Awarded for his contribution in the field of conservation of medicinal plants through plant tissue culture technology

Dr Kuldeep Yadav, head of the department of botany, Gandhi Memorial National College, Ambala Cantonment, has been honoured with "Scientist of the Year Award 2024" by the National Environmental Sciences Academy, New Delhi.

The award has been given to him for his contribution in the field of conservation of medicinal plants through plant tissue culture technology.

An Assistant Professor in the department of botany, Dr Kuldeep Yadav’s research area is micropropagation of endangered medicinal plants, in which he is developing new methods for the conservation and promotion of these plants. He has published more than 70 research papers in journals of international repute and has also edited three books. Dr Yadav also has four patents in his name.

College Principal Dr Rohit Dutt said that this award was a proof of the hard work and dedication of Dr Yadav.
