Ambala STF arrests accused in robbery case
Yamunanagar, April 9
A team of the special task force (STF), Ambala unit, on Sunday arrested an accused, wanted in several criminal cases.
The accused was identified as Jitender Singh of Nandi village of Karnal district and was carrying a reward of Rs 5,000.
He was handed over to the Yamunanagar police, which will produce him in the District Courts here on Monday.
He was handed over the custody of the accused Jitender Singh to Yamunanagar police, said Janak Raj, SHO, City police station, Jagadhri.
The accused was arrested by a team of the Ambala unit of the STF, led by inspector Deepender Pratap Singh, sub-inspector Rohit Rohilla, ASI Rajan and head constables Balwan Singh, Sat Prakash, and Rohit Kumar under the supervision of DSP of STF Ambala Aman Kumar and Superintendent of Police, STF Gurugram Jaibir Singh Rathi.
The statement of the STF read that Jitender Singh, along with his accomplices, had robbed Rs 16.40 lakh from a person at gunpoint in Yamunanagar district in 2017.
A case was registered against him under Section 392 (punishment for robbery) of the IPC at the City police station, Jagadhri, on May 11, 2017.
He was declared a proclaimed offender (PO) by a district court, Yamunanagar, in this case.
As per the statement of the STF, more than 20 criminal cases of robbery, theft and other crimes are registered against Jitender in Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan.
